Bar Buoy Cocktails Now at Pig & Olive — Pizza, Pours and Proper Devon Vibes in Westward Ho!

There’s a lot to love about summer in Westward Ho! Sea air, long evenings, sandy toes — and now, cocktails.

This season, we’ve teamed up with fellow Food Drink Devon member Bar Buoy to bring their expertly blended, Devon-made canned cocktails to our restaurant. It’s a proper flavour match for what we do: thoughtful, high-quality, and full of character.

Whether you’re ordering a lunchtime pizzetta, grabbing dinner after the beach, or just fancy a cold drink and a hot slice, these new arrivals make it even easier to enjoy the best of the season — with a twist of lime, a splash of gin, or a shot of espresso.

Devon-Made, Can-Served, Pizza-Ready

Bar Buoy cocktails are mixed by the sea in Exmouth and canned for perfect serve — no shaking, stirring or measuring needed. They’re made with top-shelf spirits like Salcombe Gin, Los Arcos Tequila and Tors Vodka, and they land in our fridge ready to pour.

Margarita – Zesty, bold and a little fiery, with chilli and sea salt bringing a cheeky twist to the classic

Sea Bird Paloma – Light, citrusy and fresh, made with pink grapefruit, lime and a splash of Salcombe Gin

Espresso Martini – Smooth and indulgent, with a sea-salted edge that brings out the best in the coffee

They’re strong. They’re balanced. And they go frighteningly well with pizza.

Why We Chose Cans (And Why You’ll Be Glad We Did)

Sustainability matters to us. That’s why we love Bar Buoy’s decision to can, not bottle. Cans are lighter to transport, more easily recycled, and take up less space once empty — especially since we crush them on site to reduce waste even further.

But most importantly? They taste brilliant. Nothing artificial. Nothing watered down. Just Devon craftsmanship in every can, chilled and ready to sip.

We don’t expect you to overthink it — but when the right drink lands next to the right pizza, something just clicks. A chilled Bar Buoy Margarita with a Margherita pizza? That’s bold on bold, and it works. Pepperoni and a cold Sandford Orchards cider is a combo we come back to often — spicy, rich, then mellowed with apple-sharp refreshment. For lunch, a pizzetta with a Gordon’s 0.0% G&T hits the spot — especially if you’re eyeing up the Mushroom & Truffle. And when the heat calls for sangria, the Spicy Nduja & Aubergine might just be the match you didn’t know you needed.
